The greatest player acquirement that Marsaxlokk FC has ever achieved is undoubtedly Chris Bart Williams. Williams is renowned world wide especially with British Football supporters, as he made his debut in the British League when he was only 16 years old

Williams is a 31 year old player, born on 16th June 1974 and of British nationality. When he was 16 years old, Williams launched his career with Leyton Orient. After only 34 games with Orient, Sheffield Wednesday showed interest in this player and they managed to buy him for the record sum of £275,000 considering that Williams was only 17 years old. Once with Sheffield Wednesday, Williams got a place with the first 11 immediately despite of his young age. Being able to play in different positions he began his career playing as offensive midfielder. Undoubtedly one of Sheffield Wednesday best players at the time he matured even more during his time in the premier league.

After 4 years he decided to start playing for Nottingham Forest and he was transferred for the sum of £2.5 million. Williams had an excellent career with Nottingham Forest, and even though he played as a defensive midfielder he managed to score a number of goals especially free kicks and penalties.  In the year 2000 Nottingham tried out an experiment by playing the formation 3-5-2 and by playing Williams as a sweeper. The experiment turned out to be a successful one as Nottingham won 5-0. Williams was the master of the game and he evidently showed that he truly can play in any position.

In December 2001, Williams played for Charlton Athletic as Nottingham Forrest were in financial difficulties and had to do away with some of the best players they had possessed. Charlton usually played Williams in the middle of the pitch, as a playmaker. As always he had a very positive season with Charlton and with Williams in this position the team was compact.

Following the two years with Charlton, Williams played with Ipswich Town, and finally at the end of the season he decided to leave Britain and go to APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus.

In the year 2005 Williams chose to start a new adventure by joining Marsaxlokk FC.

We wish Williams to have success with our team as he has had with every other team that he has played for.
